Business Rentals
For Columbia business travel, at the time of making a reservation, be sure to provide the Columbia University account number 254158 so that Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) and Liability are included in the rental. There is no need to purchase any additional insurance, when traveling for Columbia University business. The Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) and Liability coverage from Hertz when renting a vehicle in the Continental United States when on Columbia University is up to $300,000/accident, $100,000/person, $25,000/property damage as long as the
Columbia University account number 254185 is used at the time of reservation. If requested the promotion code is 6132.
Although, the Hertz reservationist may offer additional insurance coverage to the ones outlined above, these add-ons should not be accepted. Additional Coverage purchased will not be reimbursed by the University and those charges are the responsibility of the employee reserving the rental.
Insurance Card – All Hertz vehicles have insurance cards which are located either in the driver’s visor or the glove compartment.

Columbia's free insurance coverage does not apply and must be purchased separately.
