The University has entered into an agreement with Enterprise Rent-a-Car to be a preferred provider of rental cars for our business travelers. The University self-insures the first $100,000 of liability insurance and damage to its owned or leased vehicles. Tulane has negotiated a rate agreement with Enterprise to automatically provide Tulane business travelers primary liability limits of $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident for bodily injury and $50,000 for property damage and collision damage waiver coverage including theft with no deductible on the same conditions you would have if you purchased coverage at the counter. NO OTHER RENTAL COMPANY PROVIDES THIS COVERAGE IN THEIR RENTAL RATES TO TULANE. Other rental car companies either provide no liability insurance or the minimum required limits of insurance that are in excess of your personal automobile insurance unless you purchase supplemental coverage at the counter. Collision damage waiver coverage purchased from the rental company often has a $500 to $1,000 deductible. These supplemental coverages can cost up to $30 per day in addition to the rental rate. When making reservations or price shopping the various rental car providers who don't include insurance, please be aware that their rates may sometimes be lower than Enterprise's rates that include insurance. If you are traveling for leisure or personal reasons, please use rate code 14N0742. You are still eligible for the Tulane discount, however this rate code does not have the insurances built in to it like the other corporate rate code does.
